Parking near the Palmer House Hilton Help!
I have reservations for Fri, July 30 to Sunday, Aug. 1st at the Palmer House Hilton. Are there any parking garages close past to avoid paying $31 per day for parking? If I could get directions from the hotel, that would be great!
Do you need to phone call and brand a reservation?
Likewise, when yous pay for parking in a city lot are you paying per day? For example, would I have to pay for Fri, Saturday, and Sunday?

I can answer your last question near daily rates. In city lots, a daily rate is any 24-60 minutes period. Thus if you check in the offset day at, say, 11 a.m., and go out on the third day at, say, 2 p.m., you'd pay two daily rates but whatever the addition 3 hours price.

You can park for less at the Millennium Garage, in Grant Park, which is eastward of Michigan Avenue. It'south nigh half of the PH charge per unit. Go east on Monroe,(the Art Institute will exist on your right) and plough north (left) on Columbus Bulldoze. No reservations taken. I recollect they charge by the 24-hr period. It's HUGE, be sure to write down your location.

Practise yous really need your machine while you are there or could you merely ditch it near a railroad train end and then utilise public transportation for your weekend?

Where are train spots to ditch it? I'll be coming in on I-94. Too, is it safe to leave a car there for the weekend? How much would it cost?

I don't know the specific areas that well, but my advice to save money would be to look at a transit map, observe an upscale shopping mall to drop your auto, and hitch a taxi to the cupboard railroad train station which volition accept you lot downtown. I retrieve it would be just as condom in a mall parking lot as in a large city parking garage.

The only CTA station that has long term parking rates is Cumberland. You lot aren't going to relieve a lot of coin over Millenium park even so you may save some time in traffic.
The rate is x.75 a day (24hours). To get there have I-94 to 294. and so briefly like 1 mile on 1-90 e. There is a 1500 spot parking garage next to the interstate that is very safe.

Tin yous give me directions on how to get to the Palmer Business firm Hilton from the CTA station in Cumberland. I'm a bit uneasy about leaving my auto in any parking garage, just I still don't desire to pay 31 per day. I appreciate any help you can requite, cheers!

From the Cumberland Blue line station you lot will take the train to Monroe. The Palmer House Hilton is Located at the Corner of State and Monroe which is one block e.
I think this garage is very rubber although someone can refute that statement if they have experienced a trouble. The area is generaly large offices and hotels.
I think it is used heavely for people flying out of O'hare. It is a lot easier to get in and out of and so O'hare long term parking and is the same rate.

there are stops in many suburbs and some may allow long term parking (especially on weekends) Parking in these lots is very affordable (1-2 bucks a day) you will have to phone call the parking contact for the station to find out if they allow it
if you decide to drive there are lots of lots parking lots
this garage is very shut to your hotel and should run almost fifteen bucks a day or so:

At that place are STILL more than garages than this. Millenum park garage is kind of far - simply on wabash (behind the hilton) there are tons of public lots

If you tin driblet off your numberless at the hotel first so park, the millenium garage wouldn't be a bad walk dorsum. We were just at that place over the 4th. Parking is $15.25 for 24 hours. It's $12 (I think) for 12 hours. So, for a 3-day weekend yous should be looking at $42.fifty.
The Hilton garage should, but you could telephone call to confirm, only charge you for the number of hotel nights. So it would be $62 Friday through Sunday. As well, is that the valet rate, or self-park? There is a self-park garage associated with the Palmer House, nearly a block away (east, from the front of the hotel). In November they charged ~$25/day for self-park, simply prices may have gone upwards since then.

I think I feel the nigh comfortable trying the millenium parking garage or the self-park at the Hilton. Does anyone know more most the Hilton self-park garage?

They both accept access from michigan ave
the Millennium park garage has access from columbus ave (this will be harder to find if you don't know the area)
They should be around the same price
Also from Millennium park grage you will walk much further.

So to confirm what you're maxim - Grant Park South is the closest garage to the Palmer House Hilton?
Whatsoever specific driving directions I should know to become to Grant Park South Parking Garage?
As far equally I understand it'due south on Michigan Ave. and Van Buren or Adams.

when driving on michigan avenue you tin can see the entrances - I belive one of the garages ( not sure north or south or both ) has an entrance going down in the centre lane of michigan ave
what direction will y'all be driving from? what highway are you coming in on?

We'll be driving in the urban center from the Northwest - the I-90, and then the Kennedy Expressway. Probably we'll drop off our baggage and check into the hotel then bring the car over to the garage, and so we'll exist coming from the Palmer House Hilton.
Whatever directions, tips?

OK - I don't know if you lot know how to get the to hilton but I will giver you directions anyway
From the kennedy you should go off at Adams street
- go correct to halsted
(it will seem like you are going the wrong style but yous accept to practice information technology beacuse the one way streets)
- become right again on halsted,
- then another quick right onto monroe
- only drive downwardly monroe
(dorsum over the xpressway heading into the loop) to wabash and you lot should meet the palmer house
to go to the garages is easy just take monroe to michigan(i cake) and go right , in one block yous should run across the entrance to grant park south garage.at that place should be an entrance at adams and at van buren
Await a ton of traffic if you lot are arriving between 3-6pm. they xpressway volition be chock-full and monroe street will be packed (it could take 20 minutes to get ten blocks sometimes)
yous will be passing the cumberland park and ride one the way in - and then if you modify you lot mind when y'all run across the traffic you lot can just exit at cumberland and hop the blue line

I park here quite oft for business, and I use a local start-up, SpotHero, that gets astonishing rates here. Not sure how they do information technology, only I pay $18 for 24-parking, which is pretty astonishing given how much they normally accuse (they also accept day and dark rates). Plus, the spot is guaranteed, so you tin park hither fifty-fifty if it is total. I put the link below - I highly recommend them!
